Forward anything that you feel inspired to share. ## **What I’m hearing from sales leaders/professionals** This past week, I had the opportunity to sit in on and listen to lots of pipeline calls. If there was one running theme, it’s that they all resembled *Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter*. In other words, they were works of historical fiction. Lots of looking back and downloading suspect information. There was minimal strategy being executed. I advised my clients to take a *Big Hero Six* approach (set in 2150) and have their AEs report on the *future* of their deals. Have them articulate their next steps and how those steps drive the deal forward. It's hard to move forward quickly if you’re always looking back! ## **What made me laugh** This. This is it. I love how this captures many of our experiences via text! ![Screenshot_20240322-171125~2 - Will Fuentes.png](https://mail.google.com/mail/u/0?ui=2&ik=2ab874b50c&attid=0.0.2&permmsgid=msg-f:1794794716373990271&th=18e864490a383b7f&view=fimg&fur=ip&sz=s0-l75-ft&attbid=ANGjdJ-YlPPPuyNuT5S0sMrZhcohaGkApzUFos_Vf94-9uwreXRV7osJXLZlkXKW2Q0YRgkvG-T5BUgN54oUSRilBBVDx4Upxr_Mka2E0nGzzjRHlnzA67Zy5i9H2u8&disp=emb&realattid=ii_lubjyay62)   This is as good as this NSFW Key and Peele skit: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=naleynXS7yo](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=naleynXS7yo) ## **This Weeks 40/20** For every 40 hours of work, I believe you should spend 20 (additional) hours mastering your craft. This is how I spent some of my 20 hours this week. I love newsletters! One of my favorites is from Interesting Facts. You can sign up at https://www.interestingfacts.com/. This past week, I learned what the space between your eyebrows is called (glabella) and that the western- and eastern-most points of US territory share the same name, Point Udall. Does this help me in my work? Maybe. I could use a fun fact to build rapport with someone. What it 100% does do is give my brain a break and allow me to reset in the middle of some very long days! ## **Potpourri for 800** In Jeopardy!, potpourri is a category that covers a variety of topics. For Fuentes Fridays, it’s a category where I may cover anything from someone interesting I met to my favorite new restaurant. Whether or not it's related to sales, my hope is that it will bring you value. If you are not watching *Shōgun* on FX/Hulu, you should put it on your list. It is a fantastic show with great acting, storyline, and scenery. We are only 25% of the way through 2024, but we may have a winner for best new show! ## **Quote For My Son** Every day, I give my son a quote to help him learn and not repeat the same mistakes I made in my youth. This was my favorite from this past week: “You need to continually be a guy on the rise…I never want you worrying about people on the outside or even the man sitting next to you. This is a man vs. himself battle.” – Mike Tomlin, Steelers Head Coach  --- You can get weekly helpful information for sales professionals by following my company’s Maestro Mastery blog [here](https://maestrogroup.co/the-blog/).
